Where are you Buying Ammo?

Sportmans Warehouse mostly but I have completely stopped chasing it now though, it's just not worth it.

They are the only local place that still has decent prices. $14.99-16.99/50 9mm, $11.99-$14.99/20 .223/5.56. I'm sure that will change when Morris and Co. take over.

I've been trading ammo. The only reason I needed any was a decision changing calibers. So, if someone wants covidpanic prices, ok we'll deal on that basis, or we'll use former prices. My standard watchword is "equitable", and I try to use, say, Midway prices for valuation of both sides. Of course, one runs into buttholes who try to operate like car dealers, MSRP for theirs and below wholesale for yours. I just keep walking, as there's nothing you're going to do about them.

One major help is to be on a local forum, develop a group of friends and contacts, and deal with them.

ACADEMY

call ACADEMY and ask when they get TRUCKS for resupply. Then on day they get trucks at 04:30, go stand in line at 07:15. They open at 09:00. You will be led in by employee in line in order back to gun dept. You will get to buy 2 or 3 boxes of ammo. Prices will be @ .30 per round for 9mm, .45 for 5.56mm. They might have .45 or .44

Not chasing it just checking Walmart's whenever there for other items. Once in awhile you will get lucky. Yesterday I happened to be in Walmart near Chapel Hill, NC. Luck was with me. 22lr, 22magnum, and shotgun shells. Limit two of each item. Bought two 100 round boxes of Winchester SuperX 40gr rn @$8.38 per box and two 50 round boxes of CCI Standard Velocity at $3.67 per box.

Went to Academy in Webster, TX this morning at 8:50 am. There was a line outside, but at least Academy had a sign out front listing what they had. They had Win. white box, Rem, & blazer in 9mm up front. Monarch .223 was also upfront, 50rnd Steel & 20 rnd. Brass. On the shelf, back in the gun section I found .45 WWB 100 rnd. & 50 rnd. Win red box.

The limit has been reduced from 3 to 2 boxes. I made 2 trips, got 2 boxes of Blazer 9mm, and 2 boxes of WWB .45. The price was higher 9mm .37 per round & .45 .55 per round, still a lot cheaper than I have seen on line lately @ 1.00 pre round.

Bass Pro has been getting two shipments a week with lots of 9mm. I even lucked out today and picked up a box of small pistol magnum match primers. Join the club membership (credit card) and get a limit of 8 over the 5 non-members are allowed.

I've got a few different Weatherby cartridges and some Nosler .280AI in stock.
