Just decided to share, as so many others have on this site. Made these plexiglass "Handgun Holders" many years ago. No problems with moisture, chemical contact or abrasions from use. They allow me to easily see and handle my Handguns. The metal cabinets are designed/made for storage of large maps/plans etc. I use them for Handguns, Knives, Bayonets and Misc. They work great when proper "padding/wrapping" is used. The boxes for those Handguns are stored in those "plastic" cases which I believe are waterproof.

Nice but that won't fit in a safe. Looks like they could slide out easily. Whey keeps them in place?
Gravity! Depending on your safe, one could make them too "fit". My particular set-up is level and the weight of the gun plus being extended deep into the "slot" keeps them in place. The only one is the 8-3/8" Bbl. revolver that just sets in about 1/8" on the base. If I were to make another it would be a bit "deeper", also I would not have to make them as high. They have been doing the job for 20+ years, I'm still trying to understand what got me on this plexiglass thing...It is a very tedious construction...those dividers are screwed in thru the bottom base and supported vertical with a screwed in "backwall" ...drilling creates heat...plexiglass melts. The plexiglass is about 1/4" thick and I used #4 wood screws.
Thanx for the comments.
