Where to lube?

I've been reading on and off for a little while now. I recently bought a MOE and should be hitting the range very shortly.

The gun is brand new, should I lube it up first? Or just run it and then clean and lube?

Im still rather new to the AR platform as Ive only owned Glocks prior to this. Where should I lube the rifle? How much? Ive read a few issues where people have over lubed and had issues at the range.

IMO prior to shooting any firearm I've acquired, I always field strip, clean , and inspect it.

Forgot I was in the 15-22 sub forum. Sorry.

I run a bore snake through the barrel. I'll put some CLP on the bore snake up to the bristles then pull through.

I'll moisten a rag with CLP & wipe down the bolt & rails to give it a light coat. I don't put any more than a light coat. I don't want excessive oil to trap all the crud that blows back when firing .22lr.

always field strip and clean a firearm when brand new before shooting and take the bolt apart and lube the rails that the bolt slides on... very lightly though

when i say take the bolt apart i mean just break down the bolt carrier... take the guide rod and spring off the bolt and the carrier then slide the bolt off... then you can lube the rails
