Fred and Dave are friends. I called Fred and he said he hasn't spoken to Dave for a while but at that time he was doing well.
Dave started to curtail his posting after he made a brilliant and witty joke about an EpiPen.
A handful of clueless curmudgeons completely missed the humor and failed to get the punchline.
They went scorched earth on Dave.
That's when he started to disengage.

Just got off the phone with David, he is alive, well, and doing fine. Both of wish some of you haters, whoever you may be were smart enough to enjoy his Gag about the Eppy pen. Instead of flaming hi.

He and I had some back and forth, usually about the two different Hollywood's. All in fun and we'd leave ourselves wide open for the riposte. I like the guy.

Good luck finding the thread. I did a search and came up with nothing. I also searched Narcan...
All I know about Epi-Pens is they're $45 at the local pharmacy. I'm glad I'm not allergic to bee stings or addicted to narcotics!

If the image that was just posted is the one being mentioned then I just guess I can understand why but the image is obviously meant to be a joke. to find it otherwise is, to me, just trying to be offended. I would just say....

That is the kind of dark humor that public safety folks tend to enjoy based on the world in which we have worked. I don't remember it either, but anyone who is offended by that simply does not have enough life experience to see the humor.

My now 23 yo daughter has carried an EpiPen for a peanut allergy since she was three, and we both thought it was funny. Her mother, not so much . . .
And it raises awareness. People who are willing to help others need to know how to do it, so get some First Aid/CPR/AED training. When you enter any building look for the fire alarms and fire exits and look for the AED box. It is a good habit and no trouble at all. Any clients or regular customers that you have visiting should be comfortable giving you a quick EpiPen lesson.
Now if you yourself carry an EpiPen, show it to everyone! Think of it just like the safety lecture at the start of a commercial airline flight.
