Ok I know it isn't a Smith and my other Smiths in the safe haven't complained yet :) but when I had the opportunity to snap up a Para Wart Hawg Nite Hawg 45acp in 85 to 90% for 250 bucks I couldn't pass it up. Who here would pass up on a 10 shot 45acp for that price? Local gunsmith polished the ramp and pronounced it jamb free. Factory flat black finish is a joke so I want to send it off to get a real durable flat black finish put on it. any recommendations?

I would highly recommend Robar's NP3+ or an Isonite QPQ™ (similar to Melonite/Tenifer finishes) by Coal Creek Armory or someone similar.

DuraCoat, when done by a Lauer Weaponry certified shop. The Ruperts in Cumming, GA really know their stuff. Preparation is everything. They have done three guns for me so far and I could not be more pleased. I have no interest in their business. I'm just a satisfied customer. The price is good and their work is excellent. Steel, alloy, wood, polymer, it's all good. Just make sure they are LW certified. Paras are great guns. I just bought my 5th one.

I recently had a STI frame done in "Atranite" by Freedom Gun Works, and I am very pleased with the result. This is their brand name for a melonite-like finish, but it seems like a deeper, more even black.
