Which Grip Adapter?

Like some others, I find the K-frame Magna grips a little too small and the Target grips way too big.

Many people like Magnas with a grip adapter, so I'll buy one and try it out.
I don't like finger grooves, so I'll get one of the adapters without the "bump" on the front. And I'd prefer black color to match the gun's finish.

Pachmayr made some without the bump, S&W sold similar ones that I'm told were actually made by Pachmayr.
Are there any others available, new or used, in black color without the bump?
Any other suggestions on adapters?

Will the same adapter work on both a square butt K-frame and a round-butt?

Thanks!

My suggestion would be to search e-Bay.
I've bought both of the adapters that you mention as well as grooved ones from BT and Tyler.

Their popularity waxes and wanes as time goes on. Both the Pach and the S&W adapters are black plastic. Their auction pricing seems to be slightly lower than the grooved adapters.

Good luck with your search.

I believe square butt & round butt require different TGrips but someone w/more experience may come along w/a different view.

I prefer the Pach adapters because the Tyler finger groove doesn't always feel perfect, depending on the gun. but the Pachs seem to wobble a little sometimes while the T-grip seem snug. Even when the Pach screw is tight.

What you'll find for the the straight plastic adapters are Mershon, Pachmayr, and S&W branded ones. These are all "related" by company history and shape-wise pretty much identical. I've found that for a perfect snug fit, they need a bit of shaping. Then there's no wiggle either.

The finger swell distinguishes the Tyler-original, Tyler-new, and BK adapters, also pretty much identical except they're aluminum or plastic. They generally sit snug with less fitting, but as has been mentioned, you either like the finger swell or not. If it works for your hand shape and size, they're great.

The Mershon on this 1947 police revolver looks ratty, but it's actually that the officer lovingly whittled on the edges until the thing fit perfectly; no rattle here.

PS: There are different models for different brands, gun models, and butt shapes on all these. You should find sizing charts on the web.
