Hey guys and gals, I just picked up a nice 3913TSW and I was wondering which style leather holster would be good to carry this little beauty. I have been looking and really like the Don Hume Jit style. I don't care for the IWB style too much. I find them a little uncomfortable but am open to all suggestions. Thanks

I prefer my Sparks Summer Special

(I know, it's IWB but it's really comfortable)
but I also use a PWL OWB holster.

Check out the Gazelle belt slide with magazine pouch at georgiaholstergroup.com

I use a Don Hume JIT holster; it's comfortable, holds the gun tight to the body, and is reasonably priced. Don Hume usually has them in stock, so it's easy to get one.

Kramer #3 IWB or a Milt Sparks VM-2.....not cheap however.

OK, lets get a little more specific. Which Don Hume holster best works with a S&W 3913 without the rail?

My daily carry for my 3913 is a Don Hume Copy II No. 40 its the older version of the CopyII. Hume just released a newer version that is somewhat different. I like it because I'm left handed and it is easier to put on or remove without taking my belt completely off.

Search for one of these in Google..."Safariland 5181 Open-Top Paddle Holster - Plain Black, Right Hand 5181-20-61"

I have 2 for other pistols and like them.

Thanks Rags24, I'll check that out.

Kcode,
Now thats what I'm talking about right there. I've been looking at alot of Don's holsters and I'm really liking them.

This is a Don Hume that I originally bought in the 80s for a 669. It carried well under a sport coat or light jacket. It fits my 3913LS perfectly and I still use it.

With my 3913 for OWB, I use Don Hume's H721OT....works fine even with just a loose fitting shirt. For IWB, I use High Noon's Public Secret.

+1 for the JIT slide. I've been carrying my 3913 in one for over a year now. Great little holster. I highly recommend it.

Before giving up on IWB (which I still hate for behind the hip carry), check out 'appendix carry'; it looked awkward to me at first, but it is fast, comfortable and secure (anyone trying to grab your gun must do so right in front of you, in reach of both of your hands). The holster cannot have much cant, however - vertical seems best. A short-gripped gun like the 3913 will not print even on a thin person if the concealment garment is not too snug; no more worries about printing while bending over in public or having a chair back unholster your gun at a restaurant.

Don Hume's 'H715M' works pretty well in that role and won't collapse even when you've had too much linguine...

George Minze,
I agree. I do like the Alessi holsters alot. Form and fit are next to perfect due to them being a custom made to order holster. I talked with them at a local gunshow this past month. I want to order one for my 4506 but it's gonna take some penny savin!

...not a 3913 but the econo-version same size 908.

Murph's Custom Leather...semi locally made holster, $30 OTD but difficult to find.

If you simply want to test the holster market and try your basic inexpensive holster, here's a Don Hume JIT slide #28-1. I paid under $25.00 for it.

JamesArthur60,
Thanks for your pic. I actually just ordered that very holster last night. I hope to receive it by the end of the week. I like the way it looks like it rides on the hip and I Can't wait to try it out.
