Which load do you use for SD in your 9mm Shield

Currently I'm using 115 gr Hornady Critical defense, but I'm thinking of moving up in weight and perhaps power. What are you using in your 9mm Shield?

Winchester PDX1 +P 124gr HP in the Shield
My Glocks have Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P HP

Specifically for my Shield, 124 grain XTP new from Freedom Munition. +P isn't really going to make much difference out of a 3.1" barrel.

Now out of my other 9mm guns (they have 3.9" barrels and longer), I used 124 grain +p gold dots from Underwood Ammo.

I use Hornady Critical Duty 135 +P (so I can't vote ). I've fired many SD rounds through my Shield, and it's the only one that never has had an FTE or FTF.

I'm sold on the Hornady FTX bullet because of its great terminal ballistics. I really wish Hornady would make a 124 gr version, or at least put that 115 gr bullet in front of a good hot +P charge though.

I agree! The only thing the 124 gr. HST has over it is a larger terminal diameter .61" vs. .50" ,but that's measured from a M&P 9C with a slightly longer barrel length.

Seems the Speer 147 did not perform well out of a 3" barrel.

Just checked out the Ammo Quest videos - seems you can't go wrong with any of the Federal HST's
