Which magazines for my M&P sport ?

Hi, I am new to the AR series, and would like opinions on which mags to buy for my Sport. I want 20rd mags, and would like opinions on which of the following you would buy, and why. I will be leaving the mags loaded.

Magpul 20rd or Brownells metal mags ?

Seriously, that's all you need to know. I don't know of any magazine that outperforms a Magpul Pmag.

However, another 20rd magazine that I really like is the one from Lancer:

Lancer Systems L5 AWM Advanced Warfighter Mag AR-15 20-Round Polymer

At this point, in my humble opinion, metal (read: dent-able) magazines have been superseded by polymers.

If you are storing your Pmags loaded, I would recommend using the Pmag dustcovers:

They take the pressure off the polymer feed lips, and keep everything inside nice and clean.

Magpul is always a good choice. Unless you want metal mags, I like C Products Defense Stainless ones. But polymer is the way to go I've never had a PMAG fail.

Pmags! If you just have to have metal, insist they have the Magpul followers.

To clarify, they just work! I've seen Pmags run over, shot and the springs stuffed back in and continue to work. Run over or shoot anything metal and you're pretty much done. Magpul's are durable and reliable. Depending on the situation, durable and reliable is what you want.

I own 20,30 & 40rd pmags,all have functioned flawlessly. Magpul claims that a loaded pmag with a dust cover has a indefinite shelf life. I have used pmags that were left loaded for 6 months,with zero malfunctions. Slickguns.com is the best place to find good deals. Last time I looked they had pmags for $9. I've ordered a few from midwayusa too,good prices and fast shipping. Congratulations on your new rifle.
 
I like the 20 round metal mags. Most of mine are NHTG, but I do have some Colt that were picked up pre-1994. Brownell's makes a very good magazine.
 
I have a mix of Magpul and DSG Arms Aluminum with Magpul followers for all my 30 round mags. All have functioned flawlessly. For 20 round mags, I picked up a couple of Magpul and they've been great.

I ordered 20rd Lancer and DH just to try out different brands. Haven't had a chance to take my new MP15 out yet to see how they run.

I also have 20rd, straight, Pmags on the way.
 
I would suggest to buy the metal mags. I have couple of "plastic" mags and have problem with the expended of the loading zone making load and release the mag a big stiff

Quoting myself with an update. :)

Took my MP15 Sport out today during lunch. Shot approx 120rds (.223/5.56) between my DH 20rd aluminum mag, Lancer 20rd polymer and Pmag 30rd. All mags functioned flawless from the rifle.

Only thing worth noting is the DH is kind of a PITA to load. The front of the follower gets stuck in the down position sometimes so I have to coax it back up to level to continue loading. Not sure what's up with that. I don't know if my DH mag has a Magpul follower or not.

The other 2 mags had no problems at all. The followers stayed level and loaded smoothly.
 
I just got a sport, it came with a 30 Round Magpul, and I got three more of them with it.

Really nice. Didn't get to play this weekend but the first weekend I had it >100 rounds went through no issues.

If the followers tiled they were not Magpul.

I think that would be a clear case of the exception, not the rule. D&H mags are noted for their reliability. I can tell you that I have 20 D&H mags, all of which have been loaded at one point or another and none of them have ever been difficult to load, or had so much as a hiccup in function for that matter. My Magpul mags have also been 100%. I also have some Cammenga EasyMags. They too have been 100% reliable but they are the least favorite in my inventory as they are much heavier and made from steel rather than aluminum, so you have that whole steel vs. aluminum wear thing going on where steel eventually will win. (I just couldn't pass up the 7 dollar sale price when I bought them)

Of all the complaints you may have had about D&H mags though, I'm surprised you ended up with "difficult to load". It's funny, the first D&H mag I ever loaded I remember saying to myself, "Gee, these things are a snap to load!"
 
I use a mix of magpul and thermold. The thermolds are excellent and like $17 - 18 each for 15 rounders, purchased direct. Either way you'll be fine.

I want to thank everyone for the help. I went with the Magpul 20rd mags, just tried them out this afternoon, no issues.
FYI, one poster suggested getting the covers for the mags, they came with the mags.
