What, in your opinion, is the "best" grip for a square but Model 29 with a 4" barrel? Before you chime in, let's put some boundaries around best. What is best in terms of functionality, fit to the hand and comfort and controllability when shooting? Cosmetics are not necessarily a factor, although really ugly might rule them out. The material they are crafted from matters not. So, what is "THE BEST".

Me personally first choice is factory foot ball targets followed by original two piece pre medallion Pachmayr presentation size large followed by small.

My personal choice is the original "Coke" grips. While they are scarce and insanely priced, due to my small hands and short fingers they fit me better than just about anything else.

As noted above, variations in hand size will make a great difference, as will what loads you will use. If you have big hands and use heavy loads the Pachmayr Decelerators work well due to the cushioned backstrap, but these make the trigger reach quite a bit longer. For lighter loads, nice wood stocks are fine. Happy shopping!

Just like the Man said, comfortable Grip Fit to your hand is what your looking for.
I also like the Presentation Grips on the Mags.

I have one SD revolver that has a CT grip but my shooter for every day use

has a full, factory (Large) wood grip, that fits my hand, very well, and lets
me shoot heavy loads all day long and place loads at POA........

just that it does "Outline" big time if you want it to be a secret.

Another vote for Pachmayr Presentation series, whatever size you prefer, but of the old variety. The new ones are not so good, IMO. I still like the factory wood stocks for shooting milder loads, up to about 1000 FPS. They're pretty, and of course they look like they belong on the gun. Anything more than 1000 FPS and I will be putting the Pachmayrs on, if I'm shooting more than a 12-rounds or so.
