I have gotten the bug to get a snub nose stainless (or alloy) revolver with a shrouded hammer. I know the 649 has the shrouded hammer, but what other models should I be looking at for options?

BTW, 38 or 357 doesn't really matter, but I do not want blue.

THANKS!!!

Model 638 is the airweight (alloy frame / stainless cylinder - 15 oz.) Bodyguard that has the shrouded hammer that still gives you single action capability.

Adios,

The Model 638 (alloy frame, stainless steel barrel and cylinder) is the Airweight version, and the Model 649 (all stainless steel) are the 2 models that fill your specifications. Here is a link to one of my previous posts with photos of my Humpback collection:

By the way, on the used gun market, you can occassionally find a Model 438, but this has an alloy framed, blued steel cylinder and barrel. You can occassionally find nickeled Model 38s, which may meet your needs.

Best of luck,

Dave
