Which of these three handguns would you CC?

for me it would be the 640 as I prefer revolvers...not going to jam, no feed problems, if I have a problem just pull the trigger again.

For me, I would opt for the 1911. I know people have their misgivings about reliability in a 1911 with less than a commander length (4.25") barrel, but I have never had any issues with my OACP. The only FTF that I have ever had was with a new recipe for handloads, and there were about 8 out of 500. Since it was all range fodder, I don't worry about that much. With factory loads, it is 100%. Plus, I just love the feel of a SA trigger!

Furthermore, I like the capacity of autos, with the ability of quick reloads. Yes, I understand there are those out there that can reload a revolver faster than I can a semi-auto, but most can't. I would give up the slight edge of capacity of the 9mm for the awesome man-stopping power of the mighty .45 acp (ok, I got a little carried away there).

Also, I find it interesting to see the responses that are garnered on a site like this. Post this same question on the 1911 forum, and you will get an entirely different set of responses. To each his own.......

For the Serious

Let's have some fun and get opinions. I now own three conceal carry framed handguns. Which one would you carry and why? All have performed flawlessly.

Top to bottom:

Colt Defender 1911 3" .45 caliber, 7+1 rds.
S&W 3913 9mm 8+1 rds.
S&W 640-1 38/357 5 rds.

Well, ever since I started wearing long pant with pockets full time,
I been around the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol and that platform. I just like 'em...So,
I pick the Defender,

Their just business like...And if you look real close into the muzzle,
some say you can see a graveyard down there.

My youngest (adult son) has a Colt Defender with about 1000 rounds through it. It has never jammed or had any kind of failure to feed. Completely flawless.

I own a 640-1. Love it.

The S&W semi-auto I can't speak to. Personally, I think variety is the spice of life and I'd carry whatever you feel like carrying on a given day. Make sure you have several good carry holsters for each gun as each holster gives you allowances for how you can dress - more holsters = more choices = greater flexibility.
