Which one?

[S&W forever]

I have a chance to get ONE of these pistols. 629-2E 3" barrel UNFLUTED or 649-3 (357) 2" barrel. I know that more than likely the the 44 is worth more , but i have many 629 with 3". Looking for opinions on which one is more rarer.

I'd go with the 629-2E simply because I have no need for a steel J frame. That 649-1 is fairly large for a pocket revolver.

I have both of those and I couldn't help you choose which. The 629 is great fun and the 649 makes a great carry gun with enough weight to tame the 357s.

Hard choice....

If I had to part with one, I'd part with the 649 first.

But in actuality maybe I should not have because it would have made it easier with one more on the market for me to find.
