I have a chance to buy a m41.The problem is, there is a1989 or a newer one ser#UDS---. The newer one has the barrel with the rail machined, the other would need to be d and t.They are both around 90% and both cost the sameThe 1989 has way nicer blueing. But would cost 60 bucks for d and t. Which one would you buy? Thanks for replies.

Good question Ron, Myself I would pick the one that feels best in your hand and also looks the best to you. Its you who has to live with it and enjoy it for many years to come. Are they the 7" barreled model or the 5.5" model? If he has both in stock better yet to choose from. Either one will give you many Happy Years of Good shooting life as long as you use the CCI SV ammo or Blazer or Wolf brand ammo in them. CCI SV prefferrably. Wolf is pricey so try to stick with the CCI SV if you can Ron

Personally I'd go for the older model as I feel they are better quality. Since the gun has not changed much mechanically over the years, parts are readily available and interchangeable with newer models. Truthfully, they rarely break down anyway!

I am not a fan of the machined rail or the laminated grips and the older versions have neither. The bluing and finish on the older ones are better from what I've seen and I think they were built with more attention to detail.

Model 41

Well l went to the LGS and checked them over one more time. After some debating I took the plunge and bought the older 1989 model. In the end it will cost me $ 100.00 more than the newer one. (D and T for rail and mine only came with 1 mag).Oh well, buy once, cry once! Now if the temp would go above freezing.
