I have a Smith Model 29 44 MAG 6". Date printed on the stock grips are 1986.

I was shooting it and the rear leaf sight flew off- I need a new leaf sight screw, according to the schematic I found online. But here-

Numrich Gun Parts Corp. - The World's Largest Supplier of Firearms Parts and Accessories

I see there are -3, -4 and -5 models. Just curious as to know how I can tell which one I own... if it can be determined by the date or otherwise.

Thanks-

If you swing the cylinder out, look on the frame under the barrel for the model stamping. If the stocks are from 1986 and original, you probably have a 29-3. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks- it is a 29-3. New screw on the way. I'm told locktite is the way to solve this in the future.

A side bar question here... where online can I buy target "stickies" (what I was raised calling them)... when I'm at the range practicing, I'd like a few rolls of the round/square stickies to cover up the holes. Looked at Brownell's under target accessories and didn't see it. Any suggestions would be great.
