I have several brands of 9mm in 115gr FMJ that I use for target practice. Brands include Speer Lawman, Winchester White Box, Remington UMC, Blazer Brass, Sellier&Bellot, CCI/Speer (bulk), Magtech, Federal. So are these all basically the same or is one brand better or more expensive? What is your preference? FWIW, I don't think it really matters.

The Speer is probably a (small) step above the others. They're all decent with the possible exception of the Winchester. I've had a few issues with Winchester, but not their 9mm so far. I'd shoot it up first if it was me just to get it gone. The others are petty much a tossup.

I don't think it makes a difference, but I personally don't like to switch brands or types during a target practice session. In a 9mm it probably does not matter as much, but it is a variable. Speer Lawman TMJ Training ammo with a flat nose does seem to make prettier round holes in paper though, if you like saving your targets and admiring your groups later... :D

I've shot all those brands except speer and haven't had any problems with any of them. Personally I shoot the oldest first.

I'd shoot up the Remington UMC first and be glad to get rid of it. I bought some boxes on sale and it had to be the dirtiest 9mm ammo I've ever shot. Cleaning up after it was a real chore.
