Well my old trusty Dlink router died after 4-5 good years of service. I need to replace it and am not sure which to go with. I have a wired network at my house with 1 desktop, FAX/Scanner/printer, laser printer and a new Panasonic TV on it. Wireless needs include 1 netbook, 1 laptop, PS3, and a WII (which could be wired), along with a Nook and Nook Color.

Was looking at a Dlink DIR825, a NetGEAR wndr3700, or a linksys E3200.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am on Comcasts Cable modem for internet.

I would check with your internet provider and see which router they support . If you are staying with that provider for the near future this would the way to go.As for what I use LINKSYS router and their customer support has been great and my provider does support them also.

I found that my internet service provided the best router for me. The ISP is also the Bell phone company that furnishes my phone service.

I had D-links and a few other routers over the last 7 yrs but none matched the unit my phone company suggested and furnished. It gives strong signals anywhere in this house and covers the entire two acres of property with very good signals. Friends visiting in their motorhomes parked in my driveway can get super speeds.

Ask your provider which router they use or reccomend.

Router

Recently installed a Cisco Valet Plus/M20. Super easy to set up. Running 2 iMac's, 1 netbook, ipad2 and my iphone, wireless Lexmark printer and can print from all.
Definitly worth looking at.

I have a D-Link DIR 655 and am very happy with it. It has a USB port on the back that I use for a printer so I can use it from any computer in the house. IIRC it was easy to set up.

I am running a desktop, 2 laptops, a WII and a DVD player on mine. The desktop is the only one hardwired.

It also covers my whole house without any extras, which is something the "g" router didn't do very well.

I use an Airport Express for my living room stereo, but I still use a Linksys router that I've had for several years. When I first hooked up my iMac to Linksys the download speeds were horrible. It required a software update from the Linksys website. I was surprised that they offered support for older equipment.

I've always had much better luck with Linksys than any of the others.

I agree. I bought one of their first wireless G models years ago and would still be using it if a certain someone hadn’t smashed it in a box during a move to the new house. It was promptly replaced with another Linksys until I went with AT&T’s DSL.

I've had two D-Links die on me. The last new router I bought was a Belkin N+ and I'm pleased with it. It has better wireless range than the old D-Link.

The closest place that had the Airport was 50 miles from me and I need to get some stuff done in a hurry.
Yeah, I would have liked to get an Airport but, time restrictions prevailed.

If you go to cnet.com and type in cheapskate blog you will see one really cheap. I've found that he only recommends pretty good stuff.

Was trying so hard not to say this but Belkin's stuff is about half a notch better than Fellows junk. I hope yours lasts.
