Which would you buy?

Umarex. I would stay away from it man.
What's wrong with Umarex? If I recall, they produced the P22 for Walther, among other guns for other brands, and the P22 has always been considered to be a good little gun. The one I had ran perfectly with just about any ammo I put through it, and I only sold the gun because a friend of mine just had to have it. I guess they got a bit of a bad wrap from the zamak alloy used in the slide, as some pistols ended up with cracked slides, thus a lot of people turned their attention to the SR22 with its all aluminum slide instead....

Anyway, I have been looking at the M9-22 and have handled a few examples that appear well made. The buzz around the net suggests the M9-22 is a quality gun, maybe even better than the M&P 22 Compact, or the SR22, though it's hard to tell. I can say for sure that a lot of the hype surrounds the availability of 15 round mags for it, something that has no effect on my choice because if my local laws.

At this point it looks like it might come down to my personal preference, so this weekend I am going to head down to the LGS and take a look at all of the options. There is also a good chance I may find something else I like even more that I have not thought of, so we shall see...

is there such a thing as an accurate 22, of those mentioned?
as far as i know, the only choices are ruger marks, buckmarks, woodsman n model 41.
these i know are great guns, but i'm not aware anything else is in that league.
i'm talking accuracy at 25 n 50 yards.
am i incorrect?

High Standard, Sharpshooter, Victory, ECT Are.

My Buckmark Field 5.5", which I had threaded for a suppressor, is quite accurate. Browning has brought this model back for 2017 in both threaded and non-threaded versions, with an updated Picatinny rail.

I have two M & P 22C's. One now has around 35,000 rounds through it. It's been back to S & W two times. Once for the roll pin walking out and the other for a new firing pin. Not sure why that happened. :D We shoot at least 400 rounds per week and it eats anything we put into it. It's easy to take apart and clean and is a good trainer for the Shield 9 mm.

The Ruger SR22 was mentioned. I have the threaded SR22. It's a fun gun, but it ain't a target pistol. I like that it comes with an additional grip (I needed the large one), two mags, and the option of flush or finger rest floorplates. The safety is bassackwards, but that's because it is also a decocker. Unlike some of its competition, the slide is aluminum, not pot metal that likes to crack. The threaded barrel extension is removable, so you can have a muzzle flush with the slide when not in use. Inexplicably, it did not come with a thread protector.

Have not had a chance yet to take it varmint hunting.

The threaded model comes with everything seen here.

Here it is with a Bowers USS suppressor.

Another Buckmark fan here. I have 2 and love 'em. :D

Umarex ain't so bad. I have a Walther PPK/S .22 made by them and its been a great gun. ;)

I'd say the buckmark was a target pistol and the OP said he had plenty of those (victory/Ruger).

If you carry a defensive handgun, or have one you use for home defense, I would recommend a 22 that closely mimics the ergonomics of that handgun. For example, I carry a CZ 75 P01, and I bought a Kadet kit for it--basically a 22lr upper with two magazines. With a little fitting, I have a 22 plinker that I can use for cheap trigger time on my self defense weapon.

There are Glock 22lr uppers, as well as 1911 uppers/stand alones. I have a friend that loves his M&P 22, and has the 9mm version as well. I'd like to get a Walther PPQ 22 as I also sometimes carry a 9mm PPQ.

So, to the OP, let your choice of self defense handgun guide the choice of 22lr plinker.

I have a Ruger Mark II target. Fine pistol. You indicate you have at least one so I would recommend a Browning Buckmark. Inexpensive, reliable, accurate! what more can you ask for in an economy pistol?

I have a Ruger SR22, it is actually pretty accurate out to 25 yrds, haven't shot it past that. Fun little pistol,. loves CCI ammo, not too crazy about Winchester Wildcat, everything else shoots fine. Grandkids can go through 500 rounds before I can finish my cup of coffee!

If you have a larger target .22 pistol I might recommend the Bersa Thunder .22. I carry one any time I'm in the woods and I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. It has excellent ergonomics and controls and a nice light double action trigger with a very crisp and light single action trigger. It is very accurate and perfectly reliable with any CCI ammo but it will jam with low powered ammo because it has a heavy all steel slide, which I like. On the trails I actually like it better than my old S&W M-63 .22 revolver and I feel like James Bond when I'm shooting it and my wife likes it as her home defense handgun.

If you want old school build and accuracy I would look at a good used High Standard Supermatic.

High Standard made many models of 22 Auto pistols capable
of target accurracy. Some of finest 22s ever made. The older
Brownings were slick too. Medalist was one of most accurate 22s
I've ever owned.

I've tried a few different semi .22's, the only one I currently have is a Colt conversion unit on an S70 frame. I can't offer any advice on current offerings (other than stay away from a Sig Mosquito) but this one is a pretty nice shooter.
