......I found a 29-5 6 1/2 inch full underlug barrel version in excellent condition with original box and papers. They're asking $600. I'm tempted to go back and get it tomorrow. I like the P&R 29-2 but have read good things here about the 29-5 also. Should I do it? I could be at their door when they open tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Here's a 29-2 & a 629-4.

The advantage of the -4 & -3E and later guns is an "enhancement" package that is of stronger design. The Classic series with the full under-lug adds weight and helps with recoil. I like a "classic" profile, as in extractor shroud only under the barrel.
Whatever you choose in an N frame 44 you get a good gun as long as you get a good deal!
