I have a pair of K Frame stocks that were on a K 38 I acquired a few years ago. They are solid, I'd say molded, in the magna style with molded in medallions. Has anyone ever seen or heard of these from the factory? I am assuming they are by some aftermarket manufacturer, probably in the 50's.

Would appreciate any information on where they may have come from.

Somewhere along the line I had heard of S&W producing some kind of imitation Ivory, but can not verify anything.

Thanks.

When, (if) you find a source to buy some I hope you come back and let us know. I like them, and imagine they could be reproduced in about any color.

There's an old thread somewhere on the forum where Lee, I believe it is, shows a set of the old factory poly stocks but if I remember correctly, they had regular medallions and hardware installed.

Yours look like something the outfit Vintage Industries (Byron's) in Florida would produce. They typically reproduce an entire grip, medallions and all, in molded plastic. Most of their grips are solid black in color but white wouldn't be difficult to do.

I'm betting the vintagegungrips are the ones. I did see some N Frame on their site, but not any K Frame, and they were service style, not Magna's. Possibly they no longer make those.

H Richard-
I can't remember if it was vintagegungrips or not, but I do recall a website I stumbled across while searching for a reproduction butt plate for an old Savage that had stocks nearly identical to those. As to whether the factory ever offered them, I have no clue.

Research Ivorite. I believe it was a prewar grips that weren't real popular. We had a vendor in the same island with us for a few years that had an Outdoorsman 38/44 with them on. The problem was the gun was also engraved and he wanted a bundle for the gun.

Yes, those Tuskoid grips are what I remember seeing as topic of the thread, thanks.
