White Stuff

What's all this white stuff coming down? I haven' seen any of it for several years now. At 12:30 PM mountain time, there's about a 2 inch accumulation and it's still coming down, but very lightly. Streets are wet; if it freezes tomight, things are going to be very slick. Glad I don't have to go out.

1973 I was stationed at Ft. Hood when they got their first measurable snow fall in over 20 years. Six inches worth.
Now I like Texas and Texans, but these poor people were completely lost with no idea how to deal with it.
It was quite amusing to say the least.

From what I saw on the TV the other night, some of the people up north where they get the nasty stuff on a regular basis (I think it was New Jersey) don't drive so well on it either. There was a massive pile up on their interstate. I am glad I live where one does not have to worry about driving in or one that unmentionable substance.

SaltyRI: I grew up in Connecticut and spent about eight years, all told, around Boston; in the Army I did a one year tour in Thule, Greenland, and a three year tour in Alaska. But all that was a long time ago and I have probably forgotten my 'drive on snow' instincts.
