Awww,It's Just a Big Teddy BEAR of a Revolver

Awwww, it is just a big loveable .45 caliber revolver that can take most anything if you can tame it. :p Think of it as it making full power .454 Casull loads easier to shoot :D

I can definitely see a use for one by guides and hunters that spend a lot of time in Grizzly and Brown Bear country where a guide often has his hands full working around camp for clients so can't have quick and easy access to his powerful stopping rifle or a slug loaded shotgun in camp. It would be easily carried on his hip and available in the direst of circumstance in defense of life against the largest land carnivores in North America. If you ever see what a Grizzly can do to someone; no gun is too big! :)

I just wish that they would make one with an unported 6" half-lug barrel already!

I like the 460XVR, but for whatever reason S&W only offers them with short or long barrels, neither of which do I have any interest in.

To answer your question though; "Who doesn't Love a .45 Caliber Hand Cannon from S&W?" That's simple, those with egos even more fragile than their wrists who had their Man Cards forcefully revoked by witnessing the awesome power of the .460 S&W Magnum! ;)

You forgot to mention 45 Schofield :D. I love my 7.5 PC, I have no practical use for it, since I don’t hunt and I wouldn’t dream to use it for self defense but it’s a lot of fun at the range from mouse farts 45 LC to full power 460 :)

Many years ago I had a 25 convertible - 45 ACP/45 Colt. Sorry to this day I had to sell it. Great accurate shooter. At the same time I had a 5" Redhawk .44 Mag. A couple of cylinders of 21.5gr 2400 Keith loads told me I didn't need to shoot big bore magnums.

Shot that loading in my Super Blackhawk many years ago and a bit hotter ones too. After I broke my wrist had to drop back to .45 Colt..........

I've never fired a .45 revolver. :D

You must have been born under a cabbage leaf or be very young us old timers like me especially if we did time in the "Green Machine" had to learn the Colt 1911 .45 ACP backwards and forwards. But then I had use of my Grandfather's Colt 1911 .45 ACP from WWI from as far back as I can remember. LOL I have always wanted a .45 ACP revolver myself. Heard about them and last year I finally got one. :D

Seriously though if I was living in Alaska or hunting, fishing or for that matter working where there was potential problems with Grizzly or Brown Bear and I wanted serious protection I can see owning such a gun. It might not be my personal first choice but I can see it having a place in the scheme of things especially since it fires multiple different rounds and by its weight might allow people that might otherwise not be able to handle a round like the .454 Casull to carry it that it has a use. Most people simply cannot handle the recoil of the .454 Casull to be proficient enough to defend themselves with it. They either do not have the time to become proficient, the will, or the physical ability. Some people will never be able to master anything over a .44 Magnum and some will never master that. We all have to know our limitations. :)

I appreciate some folks love for those short barreled hand howitzers, but I have never seen the "fun" in it. :D

.454 Casull and .460 S&W Magnum I have no use for or need for them. But the .45 Long Colt I do. This is my shootable and fun 45LC S&W...

Beautiful gun! Is it a -7, or -9?. Something about un fluted cylinders! I have a newer 25-15. Love to shoot it. An older 4" would be nice. Bob
