Who goes to school?

Strange, but doing the trades training for the military is just like "going back to school".
Physics, Math, Stability...Technical writing...the whole gamut.
I didn't feel quite right about it, but I do know I didn't have issue with it.
Matter of fact, I found it strangely comforting and familiar, even if I had experience in applying myself to study, unlike that I'd displayed throughout my structured schoolyears.

I'd learned to enter into anything with an open mind..not sullied by what I thought I already knew. What I mean, is that anything you have to learn to be successful, you will be taught. There are no suprises if you listen...?
Best of luck..I know it's a bit of culture shock, but if you wanna' persue it, it'll be worth the pain.

Been back in college full-time for about 2 years, after a break of 16years...didn't want to get burnt out, you know.
Just closed the book on another subterm this evening. 9 more credits and then I tell my folks I have kept my promise...

I graduate in May from Nursing school. Going to take abreak for a year or so, then go to work on my BSN.

I would probably just eat the covers off of my books like I did back in grammar school so there's no need in me trying.

Getting my Bachelor's in Secondary Education - Social Studies at the end of April. Pretty excited even thought now is not a good time to be a new teacher looking for a job in FL.

Hopefully things will work out. I'm kind of tired of waiting tables.

It's tough to go back.

I started college right after high school back in 1976. I attended for 2+ years, but never got a degree because I opted for a fire dept career instead.

25 years later, after retiring from the FD, I went back to school in 2001, and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree. I gotta tell you it was no easy task. Since all of my old credits were 25 years old, they would not transfer most of them. I had to take most of the general studies classes over again.

The real education was seeing what these liberal teachers are filling our young peoples heads with. I had some "lively debates" with several of the so called educators. You would not believe the crap they are peddling these days.

Going back to school was just an itch that needed scratching. I hate starting something and not finishing it! Let's see. I started in 1976 and graduated in 2006. I guess you could say that I was on the 30 year plan!

I love that scene!
Best line in that movie: "So, maybe we can get together when you have no class!"

I dropped , or should I admit was flunking out in 1970. Must have been the times. Went back in 1979 studing Electronic Engineering. Went back in 1999 studing technical management, went back in 2003 studing technology management, and here again in 2009 with leadership and organiational change.

Bob Dylan was right, "20 years of schoolin' and they put on the day shift.. look out kid it's somethin you did, God know when but you're doing it again..."

Going back to school when older is easier and more rewarding than as a youngster (excepting those two days I was promising God many things if I could just pass that mornings test.)

I'm 66 and my credits total up to 16 full years of college. I'm really tired, but I finally found out which came first, the chicken or the egg.

To know the unknowable is all I need out of life.
