Who here is an original owner of their P&R and earlier revolvers?

Back around 1980 I came home to NH for a visit. I was stationed at USCGAS Sitka, AK on HH3F rescue helicopters as a SAR flight mechanic. Anyway I visited a local gun shop and found 4" & 8" 629s. I had only read about the 6" new model 629 in the gun rags. I bought them and returned to Sitka. I ended up selling the 8" to a CG pilot for enough to nearly pay for both. Most of us carried handguns either in shoulder holsters or in our kit bags in case a survival situation happened. I carried it for many years while in Sitka and later stationed at CGAS Kodiak. I used it for a hunting, fishing and camping sidearm during those years. I still have it and have added back an 8" as well as a 6" P&R'd 629s.

My first new Large frame S&W was bought in 1967 in Fairbanks. M-57 4 inch. with all the target stuff. Used it guiding hunters. Sold it in 1969 When I had to drive the Alcan through Canada. Bought the same gun back at a little Gun Show here in Wy..2007...from the fellow I sold it to. Not going ANYWHERE. I also have a 27-2 3 1/2 inch I bought my 2nd year in business as a FFL. 1971 carried a little in a shoulder rig. Just too much to carry

My first was a 13-2 357 mag bought new at 18 in 1974.Still have it. I would have preferred a 44 mag but Dirty Harry priced them out of my price range.

I bought Roscoe in the early seventies; first owner and still have it. That was the first of my Model 14s: a Model 14-3.

I gave it to the wife to put near her side of the bed. She said I gave it to her. Grabbed me a 14-4 and never slowed down.

My first collection for the new guys, as have shown this years ago, was a Pre-Model 14, Model 14, and dash one through dash 7. Still have them all.

Before I learned how awesome the S&W revolvers were I bought a Colt Python. This was 1976, I learned shortly thereafter the beauty of the S&W's. Great looking guns, far superior action and 2/3rds the price in a lot of cases especially back then. My Python was $335 out the door, a model 66 or 19, even a 27 or 28 could have been bought for significantly less maybe less the $200. By the way I still have the 6" Royal Blue Python.

My K-22 Masterpiece shipped to (Columbus) Ohio a few days before I was born in 1952. This is just speculation buy my theory is that my father or grandfather bought it for me when I was born but it somehow went missing before I was old enough to receive it. I was re-united with it about 10 years ago while searching for a birth year K-22. Of course this is total speculation with no facts to back it up other than the ship date and destination. No one left alive to confirm. so MAYBE?

A 15 and a 34, pre-1980. Sorry about the crummy pics. What's the cut-off date for P&R? (See? I did make a few good decisions, back in my younger days.)
