Who likes clams?

Have a friend up from Texas right now and he’s crushing every North Atlantic crustacean, Fish, bivalve and mollusk he can get his hands on. I was just discussing with him my current craving for all things clam. But raw, i’ll stick to the littlenecks, thanks.

Seen that, but I thought they got a fast table-side wok treatment after expiring from their wild, drunken death frenzy in the pool of whatever intoxicating beverage they’re immersed in (rice wine?), No? I could deal with that, so long as they got sautéed before I put em in my mouth...
 
Set 3 doz. steamed clams in front of me and they’re gone! ;) And I just love New England Clam Chowder!
I won’t eat them raw though! Same way I like good oyster stew but won’t eat them raw either!
Who in the wide wide world of sports cracked open a raw clam or snotty looking oyster and decided they were good to eat! :eek:
 
Picky eaters miss out on a lot. I've never eaten raw clams, but would certainly try them. Seems they would be similar to raw oysters.

...but only steamed or fried. :D. Raw? No way.

Lived in Boston and frequented beach towns throughout New England. NOTHING TASTIER THAN A CLAM ROLL! Bon appetit!

That said, I will consume ‘ersters’ all day long fresh outta the shell and served in a shot cup with some kinda spicy red sauce...usually consisting mostly of Tabasco! :eek:

Warning! Never wear white whilst so doing.

Next time try the oysters with much less Tabasco and flavor the ketchup to suit your taste with horseradish.
