I can also recommend the whole house Generac generator on natural gas. It is pricey but you only spend it once and you are covered. Ours runs everything including the air conditioning unit which is a necessity in Florida and it kicks on automatically when power is lost.

IMHO you couldn't have made a better choice!! The Generac HHG's are simply awesome! As long as one gets the proper size, you won't even know you have lost power and transfer is all but seamless. I also agree that in Florida, a/c is pretty much essential.
