For the last couple of months I have gotten into shooting .22 rifles. I have been shooting my old Belgium made Browning SA22. It does not have a scope and I have no plans to put a scope on it. I am currently looking for a Ruger 1022 to pour all my spare change into. I will put a scope on it. Who do you guys recommend for a good scope?

I have Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3x9x40 with the bdc reticles on 2 of my 1522s. I have a Nikon P22 2x7 x32 on another 1522. All were mounted on Nikon rings due to the AR platform stock. I like the prostaff scopes better. I like the 3x9x40 for my eyes. These scope cost $149. The reticle allows for shots fron 50 yards to 150 yards. They are super clear. Now if you really need the high magnification on a rimfire, I suggest a Tasco varmit scope with Mil-dot reticle in a 6-24x42. I have this scope on a 17hmr. I saw this scope on sale somewhere for $59. I don't remember where though. I hope this helps.

I'd look at a one inch tube Vortex, Nikon, or Bushnell. I'd also spend every bit of that 200.00 on it.

The Nikon Rimfire is a lot of scope for $150. That puts you right around 200 bucks with rings out the door.

Another vote for Leupold, got one, love it. My second choice would be a Nikon.

Leupold, Nikon, Weaver (classics), Sightron

Don't narrow the search to rimfire, look under all center fire also. 3-9 is plenty.

Under $200 I don't believe you can get a Leupold. I have a Nikon on my Savage and it is crystal clear. I would go with a Nikon and good steel rings.

I'm a Leupold man, but for under $200 bucks the Nikon Prostaff is the best bang for the buck as the fellas have said^^^^^^^^^^^.

Burris is good also as well as Redfield which is under the Leopold umbrella.
Stay with any of the listed names and you will be good for a rimfire.

Redfield has the same no BS warranty. That alone is worth it to me. It's forever no matter what.

Kind of depends on what you're going to do with it. If you're just going to punch paper, from a bench, then get as much magnification as you can. If you are going to carry it in the field, then you want a simpler, more rugged scope.
