Since I'm a little younger than some of you geezers in here, I'd say Def Leppard 1st. ZZ Top 2nd, and KISS when I was a kid.
 
Good ones all.I'm a big time Allman Bro's fan.What an influence on American music.Duane and Dickey set the pace for so many to follow.

All politics aside,We're talking music.

In no particular order:
  • The Moody Blues
  • The Beach Boys
  • The Monarchs - They were a local band in the Louisville, Ky., area. They had one national hit, "Look Homeward, Angel", in the early 1960's.
 
Boston Pops & Lenard Bernstein New York Philharmonic & classical music were more my thing in those days, the nuances of full pipe organ vs electronic chuff chip technology etc....but I listened to Jefferson whatever, Janis, Pink Floyd, Yellow Submarine Beatles, individual performers, etc. Good Lord, has anybody heard BDylan lately?
 
Among my favorites at the time (and some still are) were:

Pink Floyd
