Who's happy with there 15-22

Bought mine a couple of months ago. Only had a chance to get out once, 13 degrees, gun performed flawlessly. Only had time for 100 rounds, bulk from Walmart, both Federal & Winchester. Slow fire, rapid fire. normal, not a hiccup. I'm really pleased - it's a fun gun to shoot.

Pretty happy with the performance of mine today.

Took it out and ran 350 rounds of Golden Bullets through it today in a vain attempt to get it to fail so I could get sending it back to Smith out of the way. With the exception of the (completely expected) 1 round per magazine failure-to-fire (which is better than RGB average in both of my 10/22s) it ran like a top, including 4 magazines as fast as I could pull the trigger.

I was very pleased with my standing, unbraced iron sights accuracy at 50s yards (with RGBs no less), easily as accurate as my stock barrel 10/22.

Played around with my Eotech 512 and 3X flip magnifier, but, honestly, I really like the light weight of the 15-22 with nothing on it. (And, since it is supposed to be for my young son...lol)

Janizary,

WOW you really were tempting the fates today with the golden bombs! I am excited to hear you had no OOB's and she performed like a pro!

Maybe this is a good sign and in the future we will be able to run the RGB's :)

Mine is a DTH i picked up in January about 30 days ago and its been flawless minus operator errors. Thats about 1500 rounds threw it some were even powderless Super Colibri's which work fine as long as you tilt the gun on the ejection port and hand cycle them for extraction.
The operator issues are from me loading the mag wrong and not getting the double stack set correctly in the mag.
That happened 8 times in my first mag and one time around round 1k
I mainly shoot bulk ammo also so that says alot for the gun also.
Bulk Federal 550
Federal 500 bulk in 50 round box's
Velociraptor's
Winchester Xpert HV
Super Colibri powderless 500fps 20gr
Aguila 1750 fps hyper velocity 30gr

I wont buy Remington .22 ammo, Any ammo that the bullet flops around loose on top of the case isnt going into any gun i own.
It ate em all!
I just picked up a few packs of sub sonics for some testing also and im sure it will cycle them with no issues even at 1050 fps.

I did have to send my 15-22 back to S&W and noe that I have it back it runs like a top. I love that little gun!!!!

15-22

had mine since nov. put about 1200 rounds through it with very little problems, all rounds were feds. from wal-mart.i am very impressed with now accurate it is, makes quarter size holes all day long at 75', with a red dot sight.(ser.#dte3xxx) great gun...

I've enjoyed the rifle since purchasing it in January. I have ran ~1,000 rounds of Wally World Federal ammo through it with 11 FTL's-no complaints. Gun looks great, shoots OK, and sucks up accessory dollars like a Hoover.

Same 1% rate I get.

I am really enjoying mine and have been very happy with it so far. I've put close to 2,000 rounds through it and have probably had about a dozen FTL's which I mostly attribute to the magazines. This seems to be most apparent when the mags are new from my experience. After they get a bit more broke in I feel like they work better.

I've had a few FTE but those all happened with standard velocity ammo that didn't cycle the action correctly. I've only had about five FTF's but had good strikes on them so it was likely the ammo and not the gun.

I really like how customizable this platform is and have been buying up a lot of accessories for it to "make it my own". :)

I also really like the fact that it's a great trainer for me to get the AR fundamentals down before I make the leap to its big brother. Having an economical solution to train on is huge for me.

Add to that the fact that it'll make an awesome small game rifle and it's a grand slam purchase in my opinion.

I purchased mine at the beginning of February 2010. All my mags are the 1st gen mags.

Update - Mine is a DTU9XXX model.

I bought my first one in September "DTB" and it has been flawless thru 2K rounds. I broke it in with CCI MiniMags followed by Federal 710s which this rifle really likes. Bought my second one with the factory installed flash hider "DTU" in late January. To cold to shoot it a lot but it has been flawless 125 rounds CCI MMs and another 125 rounds of Federal 710s. I have two friends with early rifles and they've had great performance also. I just picked up a Sig 522 and if performs as well as my M&Ps I'll be very happy.

My DTB, also purchased in september, has also run flawless. It's only had a diet of Federal/AE 40 grain solids, and CCI mini-mags. It's almost hit the 4k round mark.

I saw the 522, did some research about it, then though about it, but I didn't like the looks of it. Everyone has their own opinion though. I've heard them 522 shot flawless, and are just as fun to shoot as the 15-22.

I have a Sig R522 SWAT on order. Another quad rail.... Midway must be funding these rifle manufacturer .22lr projects...

I heard Midway will set up and accept direct deposits. :p

Yeah... well they've had my Visa# on file for many years... might as well start direct deposit too.

I made the mistake one day of looking at Midway order history of my account. Oh brother.... I don't recommend doing so without a bottle whiskey at the ready... Geeesh... No wonder Larry is always smiling in those videos ;)

I've just got 5.11 tactical double rifle case. I'm looking for something to fill in the case, and the Sig SWAT version is come up to my mind. :D
