Why Advertisers Ignore You*

I am a baby boomer 68, I am now smart enough to know the salesman with the pitch is lying. I know the stuff they are selling will not cure anything, make my teeth whiter, nor make me more attractive to the opposite sex.

Perhaps advertising agencies ignore you, because that industry is (apparently) dominated by young people.

AARP has sent him a few temporary membership cards.
I didn't realize that Mr. Fred was that old, even in cat years.
He crossed the rainbow bridge over fifteen years ago.
Obviously he has not been spending any money.

...but he can still VOTE!!!

My wife and I each got membership bills from AARP even though neither of us applied or would even consider joining.
Tossed em in the trash and forgot about em.

Now I'm getting calls on my cell phone from a Collection Agency for the exact amount of the AARP dues.

Is this someone messing with me, or is this the new age of
"With Us or Against Us" Orwellianism?

i.e. If I don't cough up the money for a "bill" for something I didn't request it works against my Credit Rating.

Making me wonder where we're all going.
