Nothing political intended here but why all the fuss about Brittney Griner? She flys into the most hostile country any US citizen could reach packing hash oil in her bags. Routine customs inspection {just like in every other country including ours} finds it and she is arrested.

Now I realize she is a "Star" but since when does being a professional athlete get you immunity from drug laws in any country? Putin must be laughing his butt off as she has handed him a serious opportunity to screw with the US. Last I heard Russia is holding out for a prisoner exchange for a serious bad guy currently in US custody.

Do the crime, do the time. Sheesh...

I have also wondered why she didn't seem to realize the extreme peril she was putting herself into by taking her illegal drugs with her. Regardless of her talents on the basketball court, they mean nothing in a Russian court. The obvious outcome will be some prisoner exchange.

Found out last night Griner has been one of the " kneelers " before a game, and has been condemning America and our Founders for over two years.
Reading her recent written plea ( it's worth checking out! ) to our government to get her released made me laugh.

I'll bet the bad old US of A now seems like a lot better place to be to her right about now.
I don't care if the Russians keep her for a long time.
Unfortunately, we will trade a Russian spy or pay a large ransom to get her back pretty soon.

Earlier reports were that she was leaving the country. I assumed one of her handlers for the league probably supplied the vape pen in Russia and she forgot it was in her carry on. If this is the case, and as someone who has lost a really nice knife to the TVA agent, I understand how this mistake can happen. But, the stakes are a lot higher in her case.
