Seriously, do you remember who gave your commencement speech? I don't, and it was only 35 years ago.. but 2 rounds of chemo & one of radiation have scrambled quite a few memories.
Never went to college, but I remember who gave the commencement speech at my high school graduation. It was a well-liked teacher who was moving to Japan to teach English. He was an interesting guy, having circumnavigated the earth on a bicycle, and he had a ton of slides from his travels that he used in his classes. he talked about the courage he had to muster to actually attempt the trip. he talked about not being afraid to try new things, whether it was mystery meat in Morrocco or moving to Japan. It was a good speech. Then as we walked across the stage, one at a time, to receive our diplomas, we all shook his hand and handed him a marble at the same time. He never said a word, he just grinned and put each one in his pocket. I think there was 300 in the class, so by the end, his pockets were lumpy and bulging and his belt was screaming for mercy.
