Why is the Model 67 so special?

I have a 67 with no dash that has a 4" tapered barrel with the red insert in the front sight. It was worked over by a pistol smith before I picked it up and it is a dream to use in DA. Dave_n

M67

I bought this M67 from my LGS for $260, to keep in my boat. It was imported by IAC, possibly a used LEO gun. It looked like it was used to make little rocks from big ones. With Mohter's Mag and my rubbing, it turned out pretty good. I don't care for high polish stainless steel, but with this one I had no choice. Internals were perfect. It never made the boat.

I have a Model 67 I purchased from a retired Michigan State Police Officer. It was his issue gun but never carried. He carried a 226 Sig.
It has a red ramp front sight and a serrated trigger with the MSP logo on the sideplate and is in excellent++ condition. I have never shot it....yet!

Here's my LAPD-issued M67, wearing the original Pachmayr stocks I put on it when I was in the Academy in 1984. I bought it from the city upon retirement ($79 and some change), then sent it back to S&W for a duty tune and a bead-blast. I could do a lot worse if I could only have one revolver. A great shooter and a trusted friend that won't ever reveal my long-ago secrets.
