Yeah, it sucks. The same thing is happening (again) with M&P 9mm 10 round mags. Hopefully S&W or who ever makes them will get caught up.

I just bought 2 MP22 mags

from CDNN Investments.....brand new in sealed factory package, $29.95 each...they have quite a few S&W mags and not at inflated prices

I'm looking for 10 round mags for both M&P 22 and M&P 9mm. Looked at CDNN and nothing to be found. I wish someone not in California would buy 12 rnd 22 mags, modify to 10 rounds and make them available. I believe this would be perfectly legal in CA. What I can't do is buy 12 rnd mags and modify myself.

Unfortunately those aren't for the M&P22.
SMITH & WESSON M22A 22S 22LR 10RD STS FACTORY MAG

Try tombstonetacticle.com, in stock $25 or Quanticotactical.com. 10 and12 rnd mags are the same except for a small spacer to make it a 10. Check youtube to see how it is done.

I kind of laugh at this thread as I bought mine a while ago and for a while if you could even find one they wanted $80 and people bought them.

By this time tomorrow, I should have a post in the classified section, of this forum, selling my M&P 22 with 5 magazines total, which is 4 extra.

At the inflated magazine prices, the add could read; buy 5 magazines and get a free pistol.

Thanks for the leads. Tombstone out of stock, quantico only 12 round mags. I'm in California and need 10 rounders.

Yeah, I just can't pull the plug for $45 for something that should only cost $25.

I agree with ballistic. I was in this predicament early last year and couldn't find any M&P 22 magazines. Later in the year Midway even had them on sale for less than $25. I suspect Smith and Wesson gets them in batches towards the end of the year and what we are seeing is that lot selling out. If you are patient just add it to your notifications from Midway USA.

Wife and I went to the LGS yesterday to purchase a plinking gun for her, she wanted a .22. We looked at the M&P22 and the Ruger SR22, we ended up walking out with the Ruger. The Ruger was $40 less and came with 3 Mags. The Mags were the selling point. The M&P came with only one mag, and not very good prospects of getting any additional. I could of got the Ruger for $60 less with only 2 mags.

Welcome to the post election democrat winning world. This is not unique to the .22 mags I'm afraid. Not long ago we couldn't find any M&P mags for less than exorbitant prices.

Keep your head to the grind stone and you'll either wear through your skull, at which point the mag won't be needed, or you'll find what you're looking for at a price you're willing to pay.

Edit:
The S&W list price for an M&P .22 mag is $32 so, I'd buy any mag at that price or less.

I just received a shipping notification from Midway. They filled and shipped my back ordered M&P22 magazines. Unfortunately I only ordered 3.

When prices were crazy I bought one additional 10 round factory magazine for an inflated price and since then I bought two 12 round magazines for normal prices. I only need these for a range gun as for my defense and carry guns I keep 10 magazines on hand.

How did you swing that? They still show 10 rounders out of stock and "no back order"?

If you need them righ away and there in stock at S&W why not get just enough to get you through.. Mean time place a order at Midway " if they are taking back orders for them" in the past midway is very good and will get them to you as soon as they can.. I did this a while ago with some 5.56 ammo in bulk that was on back order for months ended up getting a call asking if I wanted some .223 same brand but the could **** it righ out if I was willing to take it.. I said sure and they could ship it right out.I said sure! Had in in 2 days.. I like Midway! George

S&W still show OOS on the 10 round M&P22 mags. They have the 12 round mags but so does everyone else.

Get the 12 rounder and put the restrictor in it. I'm sure some here took that out and will offer some to you for free. If I had them I would. George

Unfortunately, he can't do that. It is illegal to import a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds. So, even if he put the block in, he'd still be breaking the law just to have it shipped.

Exactly. I almost had my cousin in Michigan order some 12 rounders for me then he would ship them to me. We decided even though the risk of being caught would be low neither of us wanted to chance it. I'll get some eventually.

I don't think S&W makes an M&P22 magazine that can't be made into a 12 round. The 10 round is a 12 round with the aluminum spacer in them. I have both here, two of them were the 10 round and I took the spacers out for now.

If your cousin in Mich were to order the 12 rounders and install the 10 round block and then ship it to you, that would be legal. Because you'd only be importing a 10 round mag.

What Rastoff said. There is a law suit pending in SF regarding importing mag parts kits for mags larger than 10 rounds so most online companies won't even send the mags disassembled.
