I wrote about my first colonoscopy here;http://smith-wessonforum.com/lounge/379874-fun-starts-tomorrow-update-post-73-a.html
Now it's my wife's turn. Today's her prep day, we got her all prepared with baby wipes and as rock doc said, "dab, don't rub."
She's using the magnesium citrate and drinkin' lotsa water to rinse that colon out.
I'm supporting her by fasting as well but tomorrow, after her procedure, we're gonna splurge and go to the Olive Garden.
I've got some leather profits and I'll treat my Italian wife to a big pasta dinner.

Tell her to strap the seat belts to the toilet, get a good book and prepare to hang around the bathroom for a few hours. Too much info ??
On a serious note... It's important to be checked out. I know about these things. Post again with the results. I'm always happy that someone ends up with a clean bill of health.

I don't think any doctor recommends you run out and stuff down a big meal after that procedure. Yes you're hungry but that's not the time to pig. I would rethink this plan very carefully and do it maybe Saturday night or early next week when things are "more normal". Seriously! It's not about the gas though I don't know why anybody would want to share that in a restaurant. It's about the fact that there is nothing in the stomach but water and it takes time to readjust to solid food.

Been there done that procedure. She won't feel like a big meal. It will take time for her digestive tract to get back to normal. She may also be a little weak due to lack of food for 12 hours or more.Whatever you do good luck.

After my colonoscopy we went to The Olive Garden for dinner, ran some errands and did some grocery shopping. I didn't have a problem with it and my wife made me promise that we'd do the same thing with her.
I did tell her of your concerns, so we'll make sure that she takes it easy and she can always get a take away box and have a snack later.
You guys brought up a good point, just because I could handle it doesn't mean she can.

Please tell her I hope everything turns out well. I've been having to have them every two years; each time they reap a rich crop of polyps. If I hadn't started having them 10 years ago, I'd probably have died from colon cancer by now.

Good man, Snubby.
With a little warning, I could have been there to fix her up with a good meal.
I may not compare to her Sicilian nonna, but it'd be a damned sight better than the OG!
I'd require very little. A good galley, fresh ingredients, some decent Italian wine (enough for the duration), a place to bed down, WiFi access, hot and cold running hookers, and I'd be good to go.
Next time, call me.

Wife's turn update post #20

We got to the Hospital and found the Endoscopy department. We got there about 2 minutes early.
They showed us to the little recovery room and left us while she put one of those gowns on.
I went to help her tie the back tie which was under her left arm and told her to move her arm. She started waving both arms around until I told her to stop. After I was done laughing, I tied her gown.
As they took her out for her procedure, she told me that she didn't want to wake up to spongebob on the television. So of course I searched through all the channels looking for Spongebob, no luck.
They found one small polyp, removed it and sent it to biopsy, they'll let us know about it in about a week.
She also had some diverticulum in her sigmoid colon but nothing outside of the normal range.
She gets to go back and do it again in five years.

Neither of us had any problem with our Olive Garden lunch. She had the peach bellini tea and the Ravioli di Portobello, I had the Garlic Rosemary Chicken, both off the lighter fare menu, along with the salad and bread sticks.
They must have remembered her, they brought extra napkins.
Did some grocery shopping and now we're home and she's napping on the sofa with Zachary keeping her company and Bozo mooning the camera.
