Title pretty much explains my dilemma; I have one of the J&G barreless kits that is a S&W 10-6. I have fitted a nice Smith 5" barrel to the frame but I failed to notice that the crane was unserviceable. I now see that Centerfire systems is selling 12-2 parts kits, with that crane fit my Frankenbuilt revolver?

Most model 12 parts are exclusive to the model 12 and are not interchangeable on steel framed revolvers, even though they are the same frame size. So, the answer is NO. There are several after-market sources for S&W parts. In this case I would suggest Numrich. AKA Gun Parts Co. And the part you are looking for is called the YOKE in S&W nomenclature, Colts have "cranes".

Model 12 frames are a bit thinner than other K frames

There is a 10-7 cylinder and yoke on EBAY for $40 plus $8 shipping and just a 10-7 yoke for $26 plus $5.45

Yoke front profiles vary a bit from model to model and I believe each was fit and polished to its frame as sometimes even model to model they sometimes aren't perfectly flush when traded.

Why do you believe your yoke isn't serviceable?

I probably have one in my parts pile I ended up buying 7 of the J&G gunsmith specials which were 10-6s and -7s and only a couple of them ended up with the original cylinders. If you don't find one PM me and I will check
