Had Red Jacket Firearms and that show "Sons of Guns" Well he was just sentenced to life plus 40 years after his conviction for sex crimes. Before anyone says he'll be out in a few years-Louisiana is one of those few states where life in prison actually means life in prison. He will die at Angola. And when he dies he still owes the state 40 more years

They'll probably dismiss those other charges over in Livingston Parish....

I watched the first few episodes thinking, oh boy, pretty guns!

Shortly I realized that his arrogance and condescension came naturally. Any scene scripted for him to express humor failed because that smile was painted on.

I'm sure he will spend the rest oh his days looking at his lap muttering: "I should never have listened to you".

It's almost that the people who put on these former tv gun programs selected people with extremely flawed characters. At least three of the shows had folks prosecuted for felonies, IIRC.

I believe part of the reason for this is many of these shows are produced by British production companies. Now, who would think Brits could be biased toward making American's with guns look bad?

Mike, quality gun work, whether it's buying/selling, customization/repair, or complete builds, is exactly two things: slow, and boring. We're the only sick freaks interested in watching that sort of thing.

So who's going to get on TV--a normal individual that does good work, or a bunch of dangerous stump-jumping weirdos that spend all day playing with those suppressed, fully-automatic rifles that are just so easy to get?

It's the ignorant nature of the majority of Americans that drives clueless, gun-hating producers to exploit and pervert gun culture and create precisely these kinds of shows.

The one out of CO that was flying around buying guns with gold always struck me as a tax cheat. I had no idea the one in LA was a sexual predator. I do recall he had people problems more than gun problems on the show.

The best part about working bank robberies as a feebie in New Orleans was pointing out to Joe Bankrobber that he could either plead to my charges and do 10 years getting a GED, having his teeth fixed, earning good time, and taking art appreciation classes from reasonably attractive do-gooders, or I could turn him over to my grinning NOPD partner and he could take his chances on a trip to Angola. I never had anyone turn me down.

Oh cool, now the Tommy gun that came from his shop that I own should go up in value almost like owning one that belonged to John Dillinger, huh?

Zipping around the channels one time, came across Sons of Guns. Managed to sit through it for about six minutes, but felt my IQ begin to drop, so I shut it off. There's been several threads here over the years about the guy and the show.

Hopefully, we've heard the last of him. With his conviction and sentencing, he should just fade into well deserved obscurity now. He's yesterday's news.

...from the text of the article...

State District Judge Mike Erwin sentenced Hayden to concurrent life terms on the aggravated rape convictions and a consecutive 40-year prison term on the forcible rape conviction.

...technically...two life terms...plus 40 years...
