Will the apex fully machined sear work on the M&P shield W/O thumb safety?

I know it says it fits the shield but I've heard that the new shield w/o safety is slightly different than the model with the safety. Will it work? Has anyone done it?

Yes it will work. The safety has nothing to do with the sear, when the safety is on (lever up) the safety lever tab blocks the tail of trigger bar from moving rearward, thus the gun is safe as the trigger can not move. Even though Apex lists the Shield kit and a separate kit for the Compact and Full Size 9 and 40, they all use the same parts. The only difference is the Shield kit uses a slightly smaller diameter trigger slave pin, used to ease the trigger spring installation, while the other kit ships with a larger diameter slave pin.

Did you have to adjust the trigger bar?

I just swapped my Apex kit over to the new non-safety frame, no issues. I didn't need to adjust the trigger bar.

No, but getting the trigger bar back in was the most difficult part. Getting the danged rear sight off is a close second.
