I recently bought out an older guy who had some reloading stuff he was looking to get rid of. In this there was a new pack of 500 Winchester SWC 158gr copper coated bullets. I can't find any loading data for this bullet for .38 special or .357 can anyone help point me to a recipe for this? I'd hate to throw away 500 of them.

I shoot a lot of Barrys plated bullets, I treat them same as good quality cast bullets.

i do the same as rocket 3 and it works for me; in fact, I've loaded berry and other plated this way for years w/o a problem.

I believe conventional wisdom is to use the loading data for ordinary, FMJ bullets. Unless you insist on loading at the upper or lower limit of the recommended range of loads for your chosen powder you should not either blow up a gun nor stick a bullet in your barrel.

No worries!

Thank you all. I use a lot of Berry bullets as well, but I've not ever reloaded with any SWC coated bullets at all. I wasn't sure where to go. I will just use the data as if they were berry's.

The Winchester coated bullets are essentially swaged lead bullets with copper plating. They can be used in much the same way as the Berry's plated bullets. Follow loading data for the 158-grain lead semi-wadcutters and you will be fine.
