This just might be the most fun gun to shoot ever! 45 Colt with 16" octagonal barrel. New production made by Miroku.

It's also easy on the eyes :p

P.S. it does have a tang safety and rebounding hammer.

The folks at Miroku make some amazingly beautiful firearms. It's too bad that the gun laws in Japan are so strict that the local populace can't enjoy owning and shooting Miroku produced firearms.

Nice!!

I have one of their 92 carbines-also in 45 Colt. I don't mind the tang safety. I am looking for a better rear sight though.

I bought the 16 inch carbine in .45 Colt some years ago.

I liked it so much that when I saw the short rifle in .45 Colt about three or four months ago I had to have that one also. Then a couple of weeks ago when I saw a deluxe take down rifle I said why not so I am pretty happy with all three of them. They all run well.

Nice rifle. Should be fun to shoot. I have a Pedersoli Colt Lightning in .45 Colt. Similar, but different. Enjoy yours. If you don't already have them get a couple of .45 Colt revolvers to go with it.

I had sworn "no more cartridges to reload" years ago. Until I bought this factory engraved USFA single action in 45 Colt (of course):

Since then a few others have wandered in, but this 7-1/2" Standard Manufacturing single action is my favorite to shoot:

I had handled Colt SAA style revolvers before and thought they felt weird in a store. However, I discovered that they point so naturally. No wonder they have bee popular for 120 years.

I would not shoot this load out of your single actions.

But I have a great business load for the Miroku 1892s in .45 colt. I run a 300 grain Hornady XTP on top of 20 grains of Winchester 296 powder. Very accurate and it will stop a charging Rhino if need be.

A small point, but one worth noting regarding the Miroku/ Winchester '92s...I bought one of the rifles new about twenty-five years ago. I loaded .45 Colt using the popular Lyman design #454424 255 grain SWC bullet for several revolvers and a Winchester '94 Trapper for years before I bought the '92 reproduction.

With the '92, this bullet had to be seated much deeper in the case (to function through the magazine) than it did with the Trapper or the revolvers. This may not be a disadvantage for some, but might be for others.

What fantastic looking lever guns. And I know how great they must shoot and how smooth the actions are. About 35 years ago I bought this Miroku made 92 variation. Ir's a well uses Browning B92 .44 Magnum. I think it's beautiful. My only complaint is that they didn't come with saddle rings, except a commemorative version. Rings are on Ebay but I never got around to getting one. No tang safety on these.

I have been just running regular large pistol primers for this load.

Need Magnum primers for that, right? Cuz I don't have any large pistol magnum primers ...

But I do not see any reason why you could not use large pistol magnum primers to load it. The difference in brisiance between those two primers is not really enough to cause a problem. It might show up on accuracy. But I would be surprised if it even did that.
