What is a current value for a pre-war Winchester 52B Sporter in about 95%
original condition. Only thing missing is the sling which is not a big deal to me. No extra holes drilled. Sights are correct and bore is excellent. Appears to have had minimal use. Thanks for any info!

I gave 1500 for my 1954 model 30 years ago. A pre war in nice condition should bring 3000 easily.

It depends, is it an older original one, or one of the made in Japan re- introductions from the 80's?

The originals will bring up to $3000+,and the repro's $1200 - $1500.

My "B" Sporter, 1949 or so...

I imagine one in decent shape would far exceed $1500. Probably closer to $4500 or so in today's market.
Mine had some stock issues, so I had them fixed by adding a skeleton grip cap and a silver oval, both to address previous attempts at "customization!

It is an original gun with swivels included, but no strap. I was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-4500?? Just needed some input
from some knowledgeable folks that might have experience with them.
Thanks so much!

IT really depends on if it is a Sporter or if it is a Target model. A very good/fine Sporter is about twice the value of a Target in equal collector condition. This is to Collectors only, competitors use more modern designs if they can afford them.

Would need pictures to give a good evaluation/estimate. But it will cost enough money that you won't want to take it to the woods and shoot it much, if at all.

Be careful. I have a 52C in a sporter stock with a sporter bbl that started life as a Heavy Bbl target 52C. NIce rifle, really shoots, but its worth 1/3 to 1/2 half the value of an original sporter.

On a pseudo-sporter, I would think I would less than than that. To most folks it probably worth less than the cost of its parts. They could go buy a nice CZ, Ruger or something else for well less than any sporter. A collector would not look twice at it as any kind of collectable.

Never had a win 52 so I did look at it twice and bought it. Already had a ruger, a 452 American, 452 Full Stock, an ultra lux, a trainer and a brno #1.

What I don't look twice at is the $5k sporters.:D

I have had about a dozen or so 52's, but never a Sporter. I have a friend in Pa., who has 30 Model 52's with B & C Sporter's.

Bottom line is if you are happy with what you purchased, then that is great. In the long run the only one you have to please with your rifle purchase is yourself.

You’re in the ballpark, maybe a bit on the high side if it’s 95%. I’ve had and sold quite a few of them— pre-A’s, A’s, B’s, C’s, a couple of rare variations and custom guns by name makers. B’s are the most common and depending on condition and where you sell it, should be anywhere between $2,500 to $4,000. More than $4K and it better be mint.

What awesome looking guns from back then. Craftsmanship makes one drool. no wonder they get so much for them today. Can only imagine what a model like this would cost in todays dollars if made. Thanks for showing.

I was the caretaker for this Model 52B Sporting rifle for a few years up until last year. It's a pre-64 and the condition was darn near flawless. I checked it out in the Blue Book and it was somewhere between $3000-$4000 at the time. I don't imagine it's gone down.
