Anybody using this powder? Found a 4LB keg cheap. Could not pass it up. Meters nice and consistent.

What are you considering loading with 572?

Here is some preliminary work with .38 Special, 357 Mag, .40 S&W and 10mm.

357 Mag - Loading Mid-Range Cast SWC - Update

38 Spcl 158gr LRN with some new powders

40 S&W First Shoot with New Powders - Update

180gr FMJ with New Powders - Sport Pistol, 244, 572, IMR Target; Part II - Reloading 10mm ammo - 10mm-firearms.com

Hopefully as weather permits, I'll do a shoot with .38 Special 125gr JHP +P with 572 and some others.

572's burning rate is falling between Unique and Herco, but possesses a little more energy than those two..

38/357 9mm 41/44 Magnum 45 ACP Are you using mag primers

Should perform well in all of those. I'm finding in this cold weather the hotter primers are getting the spreads down quite a bit. It doesn't seem to have much of a problem in the auto loaders as much as revolvers in this regard. Need to see how it performs in warmer weather..

Just read an article in last years Hodgdon Reloading magazine about 572. Regarding its usefulness in handgun loading, Winchester states that 572 is especially formulated for outstanding performance in 9mm Luger and 38 Super+P. Thought this little factoid might be helpful..

Read where it did not do well in cold weather...............

Keep us posted.

This is one of Wichester's new powders and not supposed to be overly temp sensitive. I have a pound to try but didn't get a chance yet. Looking at the 9mm first then everything else. I have some W244 too.
