Although defunct for years now, it’s sad to see another iconic firearms manufacturing plant fall. The New Haven facility produced beautiful, quality firearms. To me, there’s nothing more beautiful than a Winchester Model 70, and so many other Winchester rifles. I agree! The Pre 1964 Model 70 is the finest magazine rifle ever made. demar, Thank you for posting the Winchester Article. Being born in CT. I had family members that worked for that great gun maker. Including my Great, Great Grandfather. David Lester Davis. He worked in the bolt department, and what I can figure was employed there form 1914-1940. There were some great guns made in that time period. It is just a sad thing that they don’t make guns in New Haven any more.
