RemArms says Adios New York

Anyone who thinks this is anything more than private equity group Roundhill Group LLC trying to squeeze every penny they can as a return on their investment needs to enroll in Kindergarten and start over. Cant wait for the cheap injection molded 700 BDL's to hit the store shelves, and the squealing from members here at the quality of the product. But hey, hating NY is a team sport here...I understand.

You are correct. But that also goes back to the cost of doing business in NY. Taxes are high. Insurance is high. Wages have to be higher simply because cost of living is higher for employees. The list goes on. They’re not the first to leave NY. They definitely will not be the last. In fact , the only time any business comes to NY is when they are offered HUGE incentives which come at tax payer expense which starts the cycle all over again.

I don't know why it's so important to stay in NY due to your ancestors but the day after I left NY to live in Texas it was like a huge breath of fresh air. I was actually unprepared for the feeling of being "free" in so many ways, and suddenly truly understanding what it means to be a Texan. I never looked back.

GOOD FOR REMARMS! Way too long to get that done!

How stupid of people to put immeasurable value on community, family and friends. Just don't understand why that is so important.

You got that right. History is littered (literally) with gutless cowards that cut and run. The strong stay and fight...Bruen decision comes to mind.

So move to New York and take up the good fight, why don't you?

Seriously, it's easy to criticize someone for leaving a State that you don't even live in.

“The Fight” is not winnable. Some things simply are what they are. I was born and raised here. I have a beautiful home that I built on 5 acres and an awesome cabin I also built where I hunt 100 private acres. But I’m selling it all and leaving within two yrs. Already shopping for properties

If you are looking for a nice place I suggest Grand Isle Louisiana. It was good enough for Whitey Bulger which tells you everything you need to know. Or if you want to fish, and stay incognito, I suggest Delcambre, LA Lots of snapper boats ply between Delcambre and Panama City FL-get you a yellow slicker suit and a pair of Delcambre Reeboks and you're set.

Why White? Delcambre Reeboks - The Truth Revealed

Already have a place on the water in Naples Florida. We’ll spend 5 months there. The other 7 will be in West Virginia more than likely.

During my Navy career I flew into Griffin AFB near Rome, NY often and found the residents of upstate NY just like the folks in the Midwest or Southern US with a different accent. Those employees that are offered and accept relocation are going to get an exponential boost in quality of life.

...and Wisconsin..., and..., I'm sure there are others...

....and a bunch of other states have been mentioned in this thread.

Go ahead, pick a state that you think has better laws / people / weather...

The states are falling. Give it time and maybe your glorious place will fall too.

I hope it doesn't happen but the way things are going I will believe anything.

Not to people who like winter.
Dallas...population 1.3 million and growing...no thanks.

And Growing with Californians. Their OTHER enemy.

Another here said it well.

Some people just "cut and run" from everything.

We're all Americans.
You run.

Florida-

Now THERES a little slice of Heaven right here on earth.

Cheap homeowners insurance too, I understand.

I especially love the headlines that start with
" A Florida Man" or
"A Florida Woman"

The ensuing story is usually Better than a movie on Netflix!

I think the description of your places upstate is much nicer! I live close by in another restrictive state. NY State is beautiful!
