Our last trip to visit our son in Las Vegas, I picked up a box of Winchester SXZ personal protection ammo for my KelTec P11 at the local Bass Pro Shop. It's 115 grain JHP and feeds through the P11 like **** through a goose. Anybody out there shot much of this? Is this a good choice for carry ammo?

The bullet is the basic Winchester JHP with the evil Lubalox finish on the bullet

I have shot it into amy Fackler Water Trough for the hell of it, knowing full well what it would do, and I wasnt surprised. It shed fragments of lead, which reduced penetration. That is always a bad thing. When I put a single sheet of denim in front, and fired again, the bullet plugged up with no expansion. When recovered, except for the rifling on the bullet and the denim in the cavity, you could swear it could be reloaded.

Take a look at 124gr Speer Gold Dot JHP if you want a mid-weight standard pressure round. Better yet the 147gr Federal HST*, Speer Gold Dot, or Winchester Ranger.

*HST in NOT HydraShok. HydraShok is not a good round.
