Anyone experiencing problems with the latest Windows 11 update? I downloaded this 19 March update yesterday. This new update has essentially locked up my computer with constant program pop ups start screens, overlaying other start screens. I close one and another one pops up - they pop up faster then I can close them. When the pop ups stop for a bit my start button is non responsive, so I can’t get to any other apps or the sitting screen. Microsoft said they are aware of “problems “. Big help that………

So when you start your computer does it ask you to log in and then start popping, or does it just start popping?

You say the windows that you see are installed applications, are they applications that have always started on boot but it happened in the background? What are the apps?

I had to back the last could updates out because they created a problem with Adobe InDesign.

I get the HOME screen and the pop ups start. They cover the Home Screen until I close them, then another pop up pops up…..

Adobe, news feeds, flight simulator start screens, Word files, download file list, on & on.

I checked with MS and they admit to various issues with this latest update but no hard fixes as yet as they are still evaluating the issue. Frustrating it is…..

If Microsoft says they are aware of the problem they will probably download a fix for your latest update. I'm sure you're not the only one with this problem.

Oh, I’m sure I’m not alone. Was just wondering if any members here were experiencing these issues. Apparently not……

Windows says I'm up to date. No issues here.

I have noticed that since the latest updates both home and work machines have a series of popups at logon, but they are gone so quickly that I can't tell what they are. It's basically just a flash and then it's gone. I just assume it's some background apps loading.

Unfortunately Windows has to work with so many possible combinations of hardware and software that occasional problems are pretty much inevitable.

Try this. Press the Windows key and X simultaneously to launch a command window by selecting Terminal (Admin). Type sfc \scannow and hit enter. When that finishes type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and wait for it to finish. Then restart the computer. This may fix your issue.

No problems here on my Windows 11 machine, but a quick search shows this is a known problem. The easiest way for you to uninstall the latest update is in recovery mode. Turn the machine off then back on. Do not login. Bring up the power menu, bottom right. Hold the shift button down and click on restart. Click on troubleshoot > advanced options > uninstall updates > uninstall latest quality updates.
