Wine Connoisseurs...I don't get it!

What's the word? Thunderbird! What's the price? 50 twice.
Juice, juice, juice...
Really makes you loose, loose, loose,
Really goes down so smooth.
Really puts you in the groove.
Have you heard? What's the word?
It's Thunderbird.

Obviously a lot of ignorance about wine here, which is OK - I'm ignorant concerning a lot of things that others are passionate about, but I don't consider that to be a virtue and I certainly don't go around bragging about it. I can't help but be reminded of the apocryphal story about the woman who, upon taking a guided tour of the Louvre, remarked that she didn't see what was so special about all these paintings. The guide's response was "Madam, the paintings are not on trial. You are."

Good comparison, painting and sculpture, experts vs. common man, hipsters vs. others, schools of painting, race horses vs. poker dogs, etc. etc.
Another one is flyfishing, which is similar to wine drinking and discussions, lots of talk, some nice, some not; manufacturer comparisons, line weight snobbery, wet or dry, graphite vs. bamboo, both looking down on glass, boot foot waders vs. wading boot, hand tied vs. mass produced, natives vs. imports, brooks vs. rainbows vs. browns, eastern vs. western rivers, U.S. rivers vs. Chili and Argentina rivers, British rivers vs. U.S., etc.
Question becomes as stated, "Madam, ******** are not on trial. You are! " 😖

Lots of snobs out there. Wine is especially bad. Fishing handguns rifles sports cars and pickumup trucks. Even places. Go to Jackson Hole one time. And Cody Wy.??if it ain't a Winchester it ain't squat. I'm not really snobbish at all..cept toward snobs. I like art and great writings. Don't know enough about either. But if ya make fun of me when I ask what you may consider a stupid question. I just may take offense. And wine?? The average winer doesn't know all they think they do.

I don't like wine. But have a buddy that has been into wine making since he was a kid, with his father and grandfather. Not
being the outdoor type I was kidding him about Paw-Paws. He
took me up on it. He did Paw-Paw a couple years, then I got
him Persimmons one year. The best according to the"winos"
was made from"wild Plum", actually two old plum trees in the
woods where an old farm was back in the early 1900s. They
are only as big as your thumb and not fit to eat, but they make
good jelly, and wine. Me, I'll stick with my Turkey Wine,
Austin Nichols. I forgot the Pumpkin wine, it tasted to me like
he washed his socks in it.
