Winter Coat Suggestions For Concealed Carry ?

Barbour makes just the jacket you're looking for. Orvis carries some that meet your requirements. eBay often lists some.

Barbour is pricey, but well worth it. I have a couple that I've used for the last 10-15 years.

I use a pocket holster for my J Frame wearing jeans or trousers. Using a pocket holster in a jacket pocket removes the option of shooting through the pocket should it become necessary.

I had a Berne cow coat. I was built like a tank and would conceal Anything-but, the one I had weighed like a tank as well😳. Very heavy coat-too heavy for me. As noted, an old M65 with a liner will work great. Drop the liner if it's warmer. A J will live nicely in one of the front pockets.
I had the same experience. I could have hidden a Desert Eagle but it weighed at least twice what a heavy Carhart weighs. M65 is always a good answer. In winter I like a pocket holster best. Yes, you CAN carry anything under a heavy winter coat, but if you can't get to it quickly kinda defeats the whole idea..

The classic bomber jacket would seem ideal for pocket carrying since it's cut short and the pockets are a little higher and you could also get one in leather that would make it a little dressier. I know of a few old police officers that mentioned when they were doing traffic stop their hands would be in their pockets and one would be holding a J-frame pointing right at driver of the vehicle.
I started laughing when I read this. Those bomber looking uniform jackets were known as Tuffy jackets in the NY/NJ/ region. It had a inside pocket that would carry your BUG on calls. The gun would move to the outside handwarmer pocket as if by magic while climbing out of the patrol car, especially on night shift. The Mag Lite was in the weak hand, then the flashlight shifted under the strong arm as you reached for paperwork. A very practical and smooth move and no one suspected what was really going on. Guys that did this worked in some pretty bad towns.
