I have two pair of the Sennheiser brand. My first set, which I use almost daily, was the RS130. Nothing but good things to say about them: good sound quality, decent range and comfortable fit. The rechargeable batteries lasted about two years with almost daily usage.
I went for the less expensive RS120 'phones to put in the guest rooom (so my kids can watch Letterman, or whatever, when the grandkids are asleep in the same room). The sound quality and range are about the same, but their different style make it problematic to keep the 'phones securely on one's head. With the older RS130s, I could do dishes, vacuum, tinker, etc., with no thought about keeping the phones on my head. With the RS120s, simply bending over to tie one's shoes will cause them to fall off your head. With that in mind, for *my* purposes, I'll pay the premium to buy another set of RS130 'phones if (when) my current set goes south. If your wife is more of the sedentary sort, she may be fine with the RS120s, which are quite a bit less expensive.
HTH.
