Wish Us Luck - Wisconsin

I'm a happy camper and can't wait to jump through any of the hoops to optain the proper paper. I suppose the DNR will set up training sessions for the public, or maybe the NRA will offer something? I'm ready, let's get started! I'd be willing to offer safe handgun handling.

Classes are filling up everywhere I have looked. My son and I are enrolled in hunter safety this fall so we should be good. The state has 4 months after Walker signs the bill to implement the system and they are saying it could take up to 45 days to process the initial wave of applications even though the law says permits should be issued within 21 days.

Provision for reciprocity is in there, looks fairly simple and should get a broad list of reciprocal states.

What I don't see referenced is the actual training mandate. It's there for LEOs wishing to carry under HF 218/LEOSA, but I don't see it for citizens.

Really great to know that it's official now. It truly is like Christmas here in the Badger State! The NRA is running seminars now in various locations. Good time to go and find out the answers to any questions you might have in regards to obtaining your permit. This Bill has alot of freebies for folks that don't get the license. Good time to join the NRA too!
